Summer time finally! So excited to photograph so many cute families and kids on our warm summer nights. I had a great time with this family at an amazing location. Ended the session with a relaxing picnic with strawberries,lemonade and cupcakes!! So fun.

So it's been quite awhile since my last blog post. This is the time of year where things slow down because of the weather. This is my time to spend with my family, myself and getting all my business stuff in order. Stay tuned though for some upcoming sessions of babies and more high school grads!!
If you are interested in a family session and have young kids I really do recommend waiting until it warms up so that we can enjoy the session and you get more out of it when the kids can last longer. However, if it is a special time that needs to documented now please do not hesitate to contact me.

So on to this little cutie~ his eyes are just amazing and even though we couldn't get smiles out of him I do love the expression on his face in these. Once they hit the crawling stage it make for a pretty tough session b/c they do not want to sit. Get those baby portraits done before they start crawling. Right when they can sit and hold themselves up is such a great time.

I'm not going to lie and say photographing kids is always easy. I try to prepare for sessions and have ideas in my head on what I want to do with the families and kids but most of the time it doesn't work out that way. Does that bother me? Nope! What we have to remember is kids will be kids and they don't quite understand why I have to take so many photos, why they have to sometimes sit still for long periods and basically what the whole process is about. So through all the craziness that goes on during a session I pride myself on being a very relaxed person during sessions and just hope that the parents see this and realize that I'm there to capture their kids as they are, at this time. So what if the little ones will not sit still and just want to run. That is just that child at this stage in their life. Curious and independent. I may not get a bunch of photos that I intended to get but there will be that one moment where I do capture your child with those big beautiful eyes and that sweet expression. It's that moment that I have captured their soul and froze this moment in time and that is all I can really wish for at each session I do. So when you come into a session with huge expectations of kids sitting and being perfect and me being able to capture a ton of photos this will only result in stress or disappointment on you when the kiddos are just being themselves. It's not about that number of photos we get during the session, it's about capturing who they are at this age. Even if it is only one great photo.

Talk about 3 gorgeous girls (well 4 including Mom) Dad better look out for all those boys that will be knocking on the door when they are teens. Super fun family, super silly girls! Love it.

Love this family! The day turned out to be quite sunny and really warm so the fall clothing was not going over well. Everyone was hot. It was a bit uncomfortable for sure. Can't complain about a 78 degree day in late Oct. though!
Although I rarely show and b&w these days..these two of the girls really needed to be in b&w. It really draws me to their beautiful eyes.
